First IARA Remarketing Roundtable a Huge Success
LOS ANGELES, CA—The First International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA) Remarketing Roundtable held July 24-25, 2002 in Denver Colorado at the Hilton Denver Tech has a huge success. Attended by 100 remarketing professionals, the conference was universally well received.
The unique roundtable format, broken into three sessions—Marketing of a Sale, Reconditioning, and Inspections—allowed the participants lively and in depth interaction between the moderators and the attendees. Attendees were from a wide range of remarketing professionals including auctions, financial institutions, manufactures, fleet/lease companies, outside service providers, and trade publications.
Doug Richards, IARA treasurer, who is also the assistant vice president for Traid Financial Corp. in Huntington Beach, CA, was ecstatic at the turnout and the collaboration. “The first IARA Roundtable was an unqualified success. I can’t recall an event within our industry where there was so much open discussion and candor. The attendees left each session with new ideas and an understanding of the need for industry wide consistency.”
Dick Dennis, President of RM Dennis and Associates in Scottsdale, Arizona was a co-moderator of the Reconditioning segment along with Mike Culligan of American Suzuki. Dennis was surprised at the energy he encountered in his sessions. “Each meeting was well-attended and quite lively, the roundtable format encouraged open dialogue. The session format worked extremely well. The participants left the roundtable with a better understanding of practices and standards within the remarketing industry and numerous philosophies to consider.”
The second IARA Remarketing Roundtable is scheduled for January 15-17, 2003 in Tampa, Florida. It will be held at the Tampa Airport West Shore Hotel. For more information about the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance, visit www.iaraonline.org.
