IARA Roundtable Gathering Momentum
June 3, 2002, (Los Angeles, CA), The International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA) Roundtable Series scheduled for July 24 and 25 at the Hilton Denver Tech in Denver, Colorado is the first in a series of roundtable discussions for improved management within the vehicle remarketing industry. The inaugural discussion will focus on three topics that impact the remarketing industry: Vehicle Inspections, Reconditioning, and the Marketing of the Sale.
The three sessions will be moderated by remarketing professionals. The reconditioning segment will be headed by Mike Culligan, Automotive Auction Manager for American Suzuki and Bob Sullivan from the Chattanooga Auto Auction. The vehicle inspection portion will be led by Pierre Pons of TPC Management and Nick Peluso of Remarketing Solutions. The marketing of a sale discussion will be moderated by Henry Stanley of the Carolina Auto Auction and Bob Rauschenberg of Auction Broadcasting Company.
The Roundtable Series is designed to break away from the usual conference method of a presentation followed by a questions and answers. The roundtable encourages face to face dialogue between professional remarketers. The three groups will rotate from one topic to another. Moderators will guide each session which will enable participants to focus on their particular areas in depth in an informal workshop setting. The discussion groups will include a cross-section of industry experts from auto auctions, manufacturers, financial institutions, fleet/lease, and daily rental companies, trade publications, and service providers from the remarketing industry.
“I believe this is the single most important conference of the year,” stated Doug Richards, IARA treasurer and chairman of the education and conference committee. “I am not aware of any other conference that provides the attendee an opportunity to sit with your peers, auctions, service providers, and dealers to discuss in detail important issues. One can give and receive feedback and at the end of the session get a consensus of what the participants believe is the right direction for the industry to move in.”
The International Automotive Remarketers Alliance is an organization established to facilitate and foster cooperation, communication and commonality of purpose among professionals involved in the remarketing of used vehicles.
