IARA Now Accepting Members from Canada

TORRANCE, CA – The International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA), a group of professional remarketers whose membership now exceeds 100, is now accepting members from Canada.

The IARA, which formed at the beginning of 2001, is a group of remarketers from automotive manufacturers, captive finance companies, independent financial institutions, fleet management companies, and rental car companies that share in the goal of maximizing the return on the assets they manage.

The mission of the IARA is to assist, educate, and share knowledge with one another and its industry partners to achieve efficiency and improvement in the commerce of selling vehicles through the marketplace.

Some objectives of the organization are to facilitate standardization of processes within the industry; to serve as a central repository for industry data/vendor evaluations; to provide a medium through which joint initiatives among alliance members may be facilitated; and to provide a lobbying body to address legislative issues.

The alliance is also working closely with the National Auto Auction Association (NAAA) to present speakers and panels comprising industry remarketing managers who are members of the alliance.

IARA President Dave Langley said that those in the remarketing profession must take an active role in managing their business environment. “Individually, we can certainly have impact, but collectively our voice has infinitely greater weight,” he said. “Without this central voice or body of knowledge, we fundamentally remain reactionary to the industry pressures that confront us.”
