IARA Chicago Remarketing Roundtable Conference Scheduled for July, 23-25 2003

The International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA) will hold its next remarketing roundtable July 23-25, 2003 at the Marriott Chicago Downtown.

On the morning of July 24, the IARA will host three roundtable conversations on topics affecting the present and future of the remarketing industry.

The first discussion will be Problems as an Industry with CarFax and AutoCheck, and representatives from both companies will be on-hand to moderate the discussion. This will be followed by a session on the Further Education and Certification of New Remarketers.

Before lunch, the final roundtable will deal with Getting Vehicle Valuations Sold on the Internet into the Guidebooks. Representatives from Black Book and Kelley Blue Book will participate in the session.

After lunch there will be two forums: Remarketing Benchmarks: Definitions, with Dick Dennis and James Chapman; and Upstream Internet Selling, with Dave Langley.

The last day of the remarketing roundtable, July 25, attendees will have the opportunity to tour the Harley Davidson plant. Attendees are invited to a cocktail reception on the opening day, July 23.

IARA Accepting Nominations for Remarketing Industry Recognition Award

The International Automotive Remarketers Alliance is accepting nominations for the IARA Remarketing Industry Recognition Award and its Circle of Excellence Award.

IARA's Circle of Excellence Award is presented to the individual who clearly demonstrates outstanding contributions to the betterment of society and to the remarketing industry.

The Remarketing Industry Recognition Award gives special recognition for an individual’s one-time outstanding contributions to the remarketing industry, as well as his or her community.

Award eligibility is open to individuals from all remarketing associated companies. Click here for the nomination form.

Recent IARA Exhibits

Matt Marks, IARA's Executive Directory, exhibited the IARA membership booth at the NAFA Fleet Management Institute in Philadelphia. More than 600 fleet managers were in attendance.

Matt also exhibited the booth at the NVLA Conference in San Diego where more than 350 delegates were present.

IARA Adopts Code of Ethics

At the September IARA meeting, the members adopted a Code of Ethics. The adoption of the Code completed one of the major objectives as set forth by the IARA.
