1. Why was IARA created?
The IARA was created in 2001 in response to a realization by several vehicle remarketing organizations that this multi billion dollar per year industry had no direct representative organization.
2. Why is it an Alliance and not an Association?
An Alliance allows for all companies in the total remarketing process and thus broader representation whereas an association is usually composed of same type of service companies.
3. How often does the IARA meet?
The IARA holds two semi-annual roundtable industry meetings, one of which is in conjunction with a major remarketing conference. The meetings are usually in the Winter and Summer.
4. How much does it cost to join?
Companies who are vehicle portfolio companies (remarketers) have annual dues of $1500 (institutional). Affiliated companies in remarketing have annual dues of $1000 (industry).
5. How does the IARA conduct business?
The IARA has a President who holds monthly teleconferencing Board meetings with Board members. There are also six committees that meet regularly to discuss their own agendas.

7. Who should join the IARA?
Any organization that has a function in remarketing vehicles any where in the process should join the IARA.
8. What are the benefits of being a member of IARA?
Remarketers and those who service the remarketing industry can benefit by serving on committees that strengthen the industry. In addition, companies can learn from each other on a continual basis as well as at the regular meetings. The IARA provides an opportunity for all parties to gain knowledge from one another and to understand better each other’s role in the remarketing process. The remarketing issues facing industry members are brought before the membership for analysis and action.
9. What is the primary purpose of the IARA?
The primary purpose of the IARA is provide a forum and mechanism by which members are able to increase the maximization of remarketed vehicle values in the marketplace.
